General Conditions
1. Booking
Your registration results in the existence of a contract with Good Hope Studies upon written confirmation from Good Hope Studies.
2. Entry into South Africa
It is your responsibility to provide all required documents when entering South Africa. In the event that you are denied entry into South Africa due to not providing the required documents, no refunds will be given.
3. Alteration and Cancellation
In the event that you wish to make an alteration to your booking, an alteration fee equal to the enrolment fee will be charged.
If you wish to cancel your booking, a written notice of cancellation must be given to Good Hope Studies prior to your scheduled arrival date. In such case, Good Hope Studies shall not be required to refund the deposit paid and you will be liable for a cancellation fee. To the extent that a cancellation notice is received by Good Hope Studies within 2 weeks prior to the scheduled arrival date, the cancellation fee will amount to the cost of 1 week’s tuition and accommodation.
To the extent that your VISA application has been rejected, travel regulations change or Good Hope Studies is unable to offer the course or a suitable alternative, Good Hope Studies will refund the full tuition fee paid.
All services provided by third-party providers (such as accommodation, flight tickets, etc.) are excluded from the above alteration and cancellation provisions and are instead subject to the alteration or cancellation charges of the third-party providers.
4. Withdrawal
In the event that you do not arrive on the anticipated arrival date, without having notified Good Hope Studies in writing prior to the said arrival date, you shall not be entitled to a refund of any fees paid to Good Hope Studies.
5. Early Termination
You are required at all times to comply with the provisions of the attendance policy (the “Attendance Policy”), as included in the Good Hope Studies Check-In Form which you must sign upon arrival. As recorded in the Attendance Policy, certain circumstances of unsatisfactory attendance may warrant early termination of your booking. Please to refer to the Attendance Policy for further guidance in this regard.
6. Disruption of services
In the event that it is impossible for Good Hope Studies to continue providing its services due to force majeure (i.e. due to natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, wars, riots, or nuclear accidents), you will be offered a voucher in respect of the period of services not rendered for which you booked, which voucher shall be valid for 18 months from the date of impossibility of performance. In respect of the services offered and rendered by third-party providers, the rules and regulations of the respective third-party provider shall apply.
7. Minimum number of participants
All courses require a minimum number of 3 students to participate. In the event that the minimum number of students is not reached, the school reserves the right, in its sole discretion to either offer an alternative course or reduce the number of lessons of the original course. The reduction in the number of lessons will be between 20-33% and will be determined on a case-by-case basis having regard to the requirements of the particular course concerned.
8. Accommodation
In signing this enrolment form, you accept and agree to the “House Rules” of the accommodation when booking. No refund shall be considered for any student who is asked to leave any accommodation belonging to Good Hope Studies for reasons related to a violation of the “House Rules”.
9. Insurance
Good Hope Studies is not responsible for providing an insurance against illness, accident, theft or any loss of personal effects. Good Hope strongly recommend that you procure your own personal insurance cover in respect of these risks.
10. Indemnity
You indemnify Good Hope Studies or its representative for any liability in respect of any accident however so arising during the respective courses, on or off the course premises, on excursions or during activities. Accordingly, you are highly encouraged to procure your own full coverage personal insurance.
11. Complaints procedure
In case of any problems, no matter how serious or small they are, you are asked to inform us about the problem immediately. As Good Hope Studies is an IALC member, all clients have the opportunity to inform IALC (info@ialc.org) as a last resort.
12. Place of Jurisdiction
Place of jurisdiction in any dispute: the courts at
Cape Town.
